A. Job Description
1. 1. In charge of design and digitizing to ensure that products meet both customer wants and company capabilities. Works from a concept to create art and/or digitized files to be used for sampling or producing embroidered products. Creates or directs the creation of original computer artwork and designs for embroidered emblems, embellished products and laser cut text as required.
2. Oversees edits of patterns as required to optimize equipment, materials and labor and to ensure efficient, quality production.
3. Provides or ensures the provision of completed sample orders (Art Record/Digitized file) in a timely manner to sample production area for the production of samples.
4. Directly supervises artist/designer/digitizers and the Sample Supervisor. Monitors and reviews performance of sample area to ensure that scheduling and technical issues are resolved and that objectives are met within agreed upon processes and procedures. Manages workload so that priorities are met on schedule.
5. Assesses capability of staff and develops training guidelines and programs for art, design, digitizing and sample production. Ensures that equipment and software are operational and in good working order.
6. Adheres to schedule and workload prioritization based on business rules and elevates issues to Director of PreProduction for resolution. Communicates schedule and deliveries to Sales and Customer Service.

Interfaces and works with Product Develop and Engineering to develop new processes and procedures for company products in order to standardize methods of manufacture to meet a variety of customer demands including performance characteristics, cost parameters, material selection and stitch techniques. In charge of developing stitch techniques to improve designs and reduce the cost of products designed by the company. Recommends equipment routings and processing conditions for producing products.
