• At least 3 years wood and metal K/D furniture develop or QC experiances. Understand BIFMA / ASTM testing standard.
• Understand product and material requirements for quality and safety as required by Sauder and our customers. Communicate with Sauder Import Quality and Compliance manager and Sauder Test Lab technician to understand these requirements.
• Work with factories, agents and 3rd party inspection firms to assure that they understand these requirements.
• Train factory and agent QC in Sauder inspection procedures.
• Ensure inspection schedules are coordinated effectively.
• Review DPI and PSI inspection results from Sauder, agent and 3rd party QC; make disposition decisions and assign corrective action as appropriate.
• Assist factory and agent QC in developing and improving their quality systems. This will include audits.
• Responsible for developing corrective action plans (CAPs) for inspection failures when required. Will work with Import Quality and Compliance Manger and customer QC to insure all CAPs are completed satisfactory.
• Understand the principles of Lean Manufacturing and have the ability to apply them to improve the quality and consistency of Sauder product.
• Assist factories, agents, and Sauder team members in using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for CAPs. Provide guidance and assistance to obtain good responses for CAPs.
• Work with factories and agents to insure tasks from CAPs are adequately implemented and sustained.
• Check the 3rd party inspection firm billing invoices for accuracy and forward to SGS accountant for paying.
• Attend customer seminars and workshops as required.
Good understanding or strong ability to learn business information software. i.e. Microsoft Office, SAP and CP.
Need to schedule some work time at unusual hours, such as conference calls with U.S. partners.
