RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
• Oversee the global raw material sourcing team and category team in China & HK of China
• Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, including fact based negotiations (supplier and industry analysis, benchmarks, cost structure analysis) for the categories
• Rationalize the supply base by analyzing data or insights to understand industry trends and consumer trends
• Devise long-term development strategies for categories, coordinate with related functions both locally and globally for alignment and implementation
• Lead category projects to optimize ranges and related merchandising (e.g. hub and spoke, low cost / value material introduction)
• Management suppliers’ performance
• Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
• Identify supplier risk areas and execute risk mitigation actions
• Handle / negotiate suppliers’ contracts
• Carry out other duties as required by global and regional leadership team
Qualifications
• 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in category management
• Willing to collaborate with global teams in US & EU or regional offices in China or Southeast Asia. Global calls at Hong Kong night time are expected.
• Proactive and take initiative with demonstrated problem solving skills
• Desire to take ownership in project design and delivery
• Strong leadership skills on change management and business transformation
• Business travel required
• Global vision and mindset preferable
• People management experience preferable
• Profound verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
• Strong analytical skills and ability to deal with massive data
• Background in supply chain / chemistry / project management is a plus
