AFCI stands for : Amphenol, Framatome, Connector, International.
Created in 1988 by Framatome to diversify the business from outside the nuclear field.
Amphenol FCI continued to expand into the 90s after many acquisitions; and now the company has grown to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of electronics and electrical interconnect systems;
In November 3, 2005, Amphenol FCI was acquired by Bain Capital, one of the world’s leading private investment firms;
Amphenol FCI was then acquired by Amphenol in 8 January 2016.
