RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage metrology activities and the collection, analysis, and presentation of data for efficient and cost-effective decision making
• Source and maintain correct and calibrated equipment to support the needs of the business at all times
• Manage the development of measurement systems plans, and provide accurate measurement data, as needed, for new product introductions and for production requirements
• Provide technical expertise in the application of proactive quality tools
• Manage the development of inspection methods and gauge plans
• Manage the preparation of PPAP packages
• Identify, track, drive and resolve corrective / preventive actions via 8-Discipline methodology
• Improve quality of new product introductions through on-time completion of APQP related deliverables, including Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Process Capability Studies, etc.
• Build APQP competency throughout Engineering and Manufacturing teams through formal training, coaching, and facilitating improvement projects
• Improve product quality and customer satisfaction by leading efforts to improve existing manufacturing processes through implementation of APQP disciplines
• Ensure Quality System is maintained in accordance with TS16949, and that environmental system is maintained in accordance with ISO 14001, or applicable standard
• Maintain the Quality System as defined in the Quality Manual, and continuously monitor via internal audits, and initiate corrective action for any non-conformances that are found
• Manage supplier quality, approve new suppliers, direct suppler PPAP’s, and develop supplier performance metrics
• Facilitate the creation, implementation, reporting, analysis and continual improvement of business metrics
• Act as key focal point for all customer interaction pertaining to Quality, including customer audits
• Be an advocate for rigorous quality processes and systems.
• Other duties may be assigned, depending on business needs and other requirements
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
• Bachelor's Degree or ASQ CQM, plus related experience
• 5+ years’ experience in Quality Management, Quality Engineering or related field, with knowledge of and experience with IATF16949 requirements such as PPAP, APQP, MSA, FMEA, etc., in addition to RoHS and IMDS
• 2+ years automotive experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of automotive engineering specifications (AIAG, TS16949) (preferred)
• Able to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications at an expert level, and understand tolerance stack-ups and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing GD&T
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially injection molding, metal stamping, plating, assembly
• Excellent understanding of metrology and measurement systems for precision parts
• Good understanding of APQP process, including PFD’s, PFMEA’s, Control Plans, capability studies, and measurement system analyses
• Fundamental understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Highly proficient in data analysis, using Microsoft Excel and statistical software such as MiniTab.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including experience in document and change management
• Experience in leading and performing audits, as well as experience in being audited
