Job Description:
This new leadership rolein Procurement and Strategic Sourcing will helptransform our organization to enhance and expand our core competencies, maximize our gross margin and minimize our commercial risk.
• Design and Implement best practices in procurement and supplier sourcing to support commercial and operational objectives.
• Responsible for margins and driving results via cost reductions, sourcing and purchasing strategies.
• Manages Quotation Process: process flow; timeline; supplier and component costs; cost breakdown; quotation format.
• Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
• Examine and perform risk management with existing supply contracts and agreements
• Lead rigorous and objective contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders (sales, finance, engineering, supply chain, legal and program management)
• Lead complex negotiations with senior levels (Vice President and Factory Owners) in the supply base.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities.
• Manage recruiting, training and supervising a team of Cost Engineers who are responsible for day-to-day cost analysis activities.
• Build market intelligence capabilities within the procurement team: Raw material price indices, Environment Scan (labour costs, FX, Tax, Logistics), Competitive Scan.
• Collaborate closely and effectively with other company leaders and team members in Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Program Management and Sales.
• Proven working experience as a Procurement Director, Procurement Manager or Head of Procurement with 15+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques such as “Should Cost” analysis, RFQ Preparation & Analysis, NRE & Tooling cost analysis, cost modelling and Award Review
• Familiar with cost models for woven, non-woven, plastics, leather, PU, injection molding, soft goods, and other conversions.
• Experience in sourcing/procurement management of any or all of the following is a plus: plastics; soft goods; baby products; tooling and phone cases; woven; non-woven; leather
• Talent in negotiations with large and small Chinese suppliers
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
• Experience in collecting and analysing data
• BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
• Strong ability to manage through ambiguity and continuously changing environment and requirements.
